This special issue assembles three contributions that were originally held as lectures in a series of events co-organized by the Institutes of Anthropology and African Studies at Leipzig University entitled “Beyond debates: De/colonial practices in and across academia” during the summer semester of 2022.
In this series, we asked what has been achieved by academics, politicians, artists and activists after decades of discussions about the need to decolonize academic and public spheres, and which challenges remain.
