Erasmus+ in Europe
Would you like to spend three to twelve months studying at a partner university in another European country? Then apply for Erasmus+ funding!
Advantages of Erasmus+ studies at a glance:
- Tuition fee waiver at the Erasmus+ partner university
- Country-specific monthly Erasmus+ grant
All enrolled students and doctoral candidates who are aiming to complete their degree at our university can complete an Erasmus+ study abroad program. Students should have already completed their first year of study when they start their studies abroad.
What is Erasmus+?
Erasmus+ is a European exchange program for BA, MA and doctoral students as well as teaching staff. You can study at another European university for up to 2 semesters without having to exmatriculate at your home university. There are no additional tuition fees. You will receive a scholarship for the duration of your studies abroad.
You can find detailed information here.
When should I do the stay abroad?
We recommend that you complete your stay abroad in your third year of study (BA) or during your MA studies. Due to the different semester start dates, it is advisable to begin your stay in the winter semester. Please talk to your Erasmus coordinator in good time about your plans to study abroad in order to integrate your stay into your study plan.
How many credit points should I earn?
The number of credit points you earn depends on your personal course of study. In principle, all credits earned in the core subject, elective area or as a key qualification can be recognized. You should not earn fewer than 10 CP per semester and no more than 5 per month. Students receive the Erasmus+ scholarship even if they do not achieve all the LPs they are aiming for.
How does the recognition of academic achievements work?
1. discuss your study plans
Before your stay abroad, discuss with your Erasmus+ subject coordinator which courses at the foreign partner university can be recognized for your studies.
2. draw up a study agreement (Learning Agreement)
Draw up the Learning Agreement in consultation with your Erasmus+ subject coordinator before the start of your stay abroad. You can find a video explaining how to draw up a learning agreement here.

The following criteria apply to the recognition of your achievements at the partner university:
- the learning outcomes and competences are comparable (stated in the module description)
- the level of study is comparable
- the courses fit into the qualification objective and study profile of your degree program
- the workload to be completed is comparable
